When I finally decided to make the leap into Lamanchas, Bill Griner had just announced that the Little Orchard website had been updated, and I took a peek.....the rest is history, as I called Bill and Martha to order doelings from Joy (Love's littermate--pictured) and Love. On the day that I went down to pick up my kids, I fell in love with Love, and home she came with the kids. Love is just my kind of goat....long, level, dairy, and slow to mature. The kind of doe that will make you wait, but be very happy you did!
Her dam, Charm is a lovely doe, who was 3rd Place 5/6 Year Old Lamancha at the ADGA Nationals in Harrisburg in 2004. Charm also won the award for highest lactation and lifetime butterfat. Love's littermate sister, Little Orchard
PL Pure Joy was 5th Place 2 year old at the ADGA Nationals in Harrisburg as well, and appraised 2-03 89 VEEE this year. The third littermate, Little Orchard PL Pure Jazz, is also a lovely doe. She appraised 2-03 88 VE+E.
Unfortunately, Love did not freshen at 2, but is bred for March kids for this year. She does not yet have the maturity that her littermate Joy has at 2, but watch out for her this coming year at 3...this doe is growing into herself now, and I cannot wait to see her kids by Minute. |
